GOLF COURSE RENOVATIONS
In 1921, architect Stanley Thompson designed a gem of a golf course in Tecumseh, Ontario, Beach Grove Golf and Country Club.
Like many courses designed during the “Golden Era of Golf”, practice areas were often short, narrow pieces of leftover land or non-existent. Golfers in today’s society face time constraints for a myriad of reasons and look for additional avenues of golf enjoyment other than the traditional eighteen holes. Clubs are looking for additional sources of services and revenue to remain vital to their golfers.
We have developed a plan for Beach Grove Golf and Country Club which includes a large practice facility, short game area and nine hole short course for beginners and juniors.
The design came to fruition by listening to the Club’s concerns, consultation with the Stanley Thompson Society. A creative plan for the future was developed that synchronizes the traditions of the past and solves present perplexities of the golf course.
